And getting enraged at the pervasive utter dearth of urgency I was seeing.
Also I’m recommending one dude get fired. It gives me no pleasure, he keeps doubling down on the terrible behavior to the point where he is actively impeding progress to an extent that finally outweighs the value of the his positive contributions. I’ve been workouts around him for two moths now. I’m at a loss. I just don’t see any other way.
Maybe you could celebrate your birthday on a different day this year so that you can take some time for yourself and really enjoy it.
Hopefully you can have a happy birthday after work.
I had poutine and buffalo wings at the only decent so-called restaurant in a 20 mile radius that is open after 8pm. And the people at the bar were friendly. So I’ll call it a win.
Happy birthday. That sucks. Hope that dude smartens up or goes elsewhere.
It’s a shame, because he is knowledgeable, and skilled, and really valuable; when he decides to show up or respond
Birthday is just another day in the year. It doesn’t matter when you treat yourself as if it’s your birthday, because you should do that more often anyways, like once every month, if missing that one day in the year stresses you out that much.
It obviously sucks to have your plans ruined läßt minute. I didn’t intend to downplay the value of such a day or discredit your feelings.
Happy Birthday. Hope next year is better
I honestly don’t mind, because I enjoy the challenge. But in the moment the rage is real. I don’t know if that’s bad.
My 2c: while I don’t think I have enough context and history to really know, since you said rage I’d suggest trying to reflect on all this. Rage can be unhealthy (literally) and in a way it could be that you’re allowing this person to have a negative effect on yourself. It’s great that you care about your work and its success, but ask yourself whether you need to care this deeply about someone else’s work even if it impacts your own. I’d ask whether you could achieve the same result (reporting their behavior up to recommending they be fired) in a more calm, purpose-driven manner.
Why do you give a fuck, when nobody else does?
Because these shenanigans directly affect people’s access to healthcare. And that’s not OK to me.
