Digital atomic wall clock showing the time of 7:04 PM, an outside temperature of 158°F, and humidity of 99% outdoors.
70c, in case anyone else couldn’t tell it was failing :)
Do you have the outside part in the sun or shade?
It’s under an eave, so it’s always dry and shaded.
climate change is a bitch /s
Maybe it’s just really hot outside. Have you gone out to check? I’d put on some sunscreen first, just in case it’s accurate.

Well, they sure named the place accurately.
damn daylight savings
Why can it even register a temperature that high? You would think it would cut off somewhere around Death Valley in summer…
Yes but how can you be sure it’s wrong? Have you, for example, gone outside?
That’s so fucking hot.
Yeah, I’m a bit worried I might get banned from this community. Maybe I should mark it NSFW.
Damned climate change.
I bought a small tabletop atomic clock/thermometer at Radio Shack for $20 when I was 13. I’m in my mid-30s now, and it just died a few weeks ago. I actually mourned it a little, that thing was on my nightstand everywhere I’ve lived all these years.
It might be a really easy fix. If you have this attachment to it then it might be worth opening it up. Might be something like a wire has come off the board and you can just solder it back on. Also try changing the battery to a verified working battery
Unfortunately it’s time just came. I’d already opened it up and fixed it once before. There were buttons that were barely working, the battery connectors stopped working and it only worked with the power cable (the atomic feature wouldn’t sync from my bedroom and when I tried to move it to resync with the time change it wouldn’t hold the settings, even with new batteries), the screen was starting to get weird and I decided that it wasn’t worth it for a $20 clock that was over 20 years old when I have other clocks.

EDIT: IIRC, those things use button cells or something, so you might try replacing the battery first.
The one I have takes AAA or AA. I failed to replace the batteries one time when they weee dead, and then they leaked. I cleaned it and put in new batteries. Ever since, the temperature an humidity swing wildly. Or sometimes just say
NOfor both readings. I did see how much a new sensor was at one point, but never got around to buying it.Here’s the sensor:
Welp, looks like it’s climate change season again.
For the outside temperature, ensure the thing’s not in direct sunlight. For humidity, try taking the case of the thing apart and gently cleaning the sensor with isopropyl alcohol and a q tip.
