I was planning to upgrade to a heat pump unit soon anyway, but I ended up having to get another gas one because I need it now and don’t have time to run a new 220 line from the breaker box. Should have done this last year, damn it. Now I’m dealing with this one that is both not heating and leaking (likely related).

Ordered it at 1:59 PM and just barely made the 2pm cutoff for same day delivery, so that’s nice. So I now get to spend my evening replacing the hot water heater. Yay :-/

If the water lines aren’t lined up, a couple of sharkbite connectors and a bit of pex can go a long way to making that easy. The exhaust might be more of a pain if it’s shorter than the old one.

I just got the old one disconnected and pulled out and the new one unboxed, and thankfully everything is in the exact same spots and same sizes/threads as the old one. After I eat a quick bite, I’m gonna clean behind and around where it goes and should have the new one installed shortly after. 🤞
