Got them at Costco 2 months ago. So far I’ve eaten 6 cans. I’ve found a couple stems, but it’s okay overall (thanks Del Monte).

I love roasted fresh green beans, but the canned have their place. It’s amazing I never even had fresh green beans until I cooked them myself in my 20s… always frozen or canned until then. Of course the texture of canned is way softer. It makes them appropriate for different uses, like I’d rather have canned in a 3 bean salad. Kind of a whole different vegetable. As far as a spinach, I don’t see any reason to use frozen and the idea of canned spinach fills me with disquiet.

even carrots I like raw better. they do add something cooked when combined with the right things. Canned grean beans I at best tolerate in a recipe and yeah spinach is right out. I love baby spinach as a lettuce alternative on a sandwich. It was one of the few things I liked about subway.

I sub spinach for lettuce often on sandwiches. Same with other baby greens like chard, or even watercress or arugula.

Our cat eats too much, so we feed her green beans alongside her proper food.

They satisfy her hunger, have 0 nutritional value for her. She gets to eat all she wants, but we still keep her weight under control.

Caution: Obviously do not do this without proper vetinary advice

cat diets are confusing to me. Of course I realize they primarily need protein, but I don’t really know how much carbs or fiber they can eat.

They are obligate carnivores and get everything they need from meat. Especially if they go outside. The green beans just go straight through.

Generally they don’t need anything else, but we need to fool her into thinking she eats more than she does.

Canned green beans! Glad to hear they are lasting so long. Maybe I should get this, I like green beans but wasn’t aware of the canned option.

Canned is really different than fresh or frozen. They’re a lot softer, texture-wise. It’s good with some things and not as good with others. I love them with mashed potatoes or even just with hot sauce out of the can.
