Look into dvorak, it will definitely increase your wpm once you learn it. Also better on the fingies with all the most used letters near each other.

I think so, it was a long time ago but that’s what I remember the reason was, like chewing stuff cleans off plaque and when it’s not being used to chew it just builds up.

Can’t see the picture, but are you sure it’s leather and not polyurethane? If it’s plu, then I think you’ll have to replace it as it’s breaking down and will eventually crack and get plastic dust everywhere.
