I got a canister vacuum and never went back. Yes, it does have consumables and I have to clean the beater bar, but it is repairable and it cleans very well.

The ones that don’t use consumables are typically consumables themselves.

I haven’t been able to figure out how to do continuous printing on it without having to cut the labels with a separate pair of scissors. A previous handheld p-touch did this fine which minimized waste. (It would begin to print, prompt you to cut, then finish printing.)

I’m thinking it was user error on my part, but I’m hoping diving back into the docs will help.

At least third-party tapes seem to be very reliable.

I recently got one too. I previously just used sharpie and painters tape or a small strip of paper and scotch tape, but the label maker is great for things that will have the same label for a long time. Looks very nice.

I’m still using the old ways for shorter term labels. But the label maker is motivating me to finish getting things together faster.

Hand tools? Secondhand or Harbor Freight.

Corded? Whatever you can find secondhand. I haven’t looked into Harbor Freight power tools recently. Last I checked, the price isn’t competitive for these, but I might be wrong. Otherwise, I’ll either go Ryobi or find something I would like. (I have a DeWalt miter saw, since I wanted something more accurate.)

Cordless? Batteries make this a challenge. Buying separate batteries is expensive. It’s a lot more economical to buy batteries as a set with a tool. I’ve stuck with Ryobi. Got a big, cheap set with batteries and basic tools. Picked up a few more tools over the years. I figure if I need something higher quality, I’ll get it. I’m not a professional, so I don’t ask a whole lot from the tools. Never felt like I needed to upgrade.

Can you cut apples that small?

I know there are dehydrators that can do the job, but an oven set on low might help too. (Unless the pieces are supposed to be freeze-dried.)

I wonder if you can use some peach flavor or peach syrup to sweeten the cooked oatmeal.

Or even take the apple, soak it in peach juice, then dehydrate.

Interesting thing to think about, but when it comes to things like this I just tend to buy whatever it is.

Sweet gesture at least. I’ve had my share of bad lasagna too. Like unseasoned tomato sauce with noodles and somehow flavorless cheese. I’m never sure how it turns out like that.
