The bottom of this aging broom fell off. We use it to sweep stuff out of our garden.

I had previously fixed it with a nail, but that broke. I think it was metal fatigue, and a very slender nail.

This time I’m using a relatively thick screw. It doesn’t quite go all the way through, so it looks janky but I’m trying to be okay with it…

    It’s a functional issue, not an aesthetic issue. The screw sticking that far out has the potential to scratch surfaces
