I go to a coffee shop every day after work - and even on weekends - because it’s sort of a coping mechanism for my mental illness. There, I do programming, fediverse and listen to music. That’s all I need.

BUT!

When a heathen holiday makes it so that ALL cafes are closed, what can I do…

I know the Swedes have a big festival for Midsommar. I think someone make a real killer of a film about it not too long ago…

I think it’s good, lovely, and pure an entire staff have an entire day off to rest, spend time with family, create art, just chill. In fact, why shouldn’t they have 2 day weekends and rotating a weekday off? It’s needed, fair, and just. Humanity managed before an always-on society, we can learn to do it again.

Inb4 emergency services, real needs such as bandages, home health, etc. Of course it’s fair and just some establishments be always on, but so is having enough staff that everyone gets rotating two day weekends and an additional weekday off, to do personal business.
