I cleaned the innards of my sole electric guitar distortion pedal. First time ever, bought the thing in the early 2000s. Wild seeing spiderwebs inside it, and no spiders.

I apologize for the non-OC photo, but my phone camera app kept crashing. Tomorrow’s another day.

Spiderwebs and no spiders is a fun way to spend time contemplating if you have just failed to notice the spider that is there.

Now I’m thinking about people cleaning up from the perspective of spiders. Imagine having a home, leaving for the grocery store, and suddenly it’s just gone. But on the other hand, spiders can just go build another. I imagine as a human, you would have to be a multidisciplinary tradesperson to “just go build another,” and rich enough to afford all the material while a spider can just make material it right then and there (as far as I know, spider enthusiasts let me know if I’m wrong).

I totally am with you. Teenager me never figured out the sweet spot playing through a Crate 10W solid-stste amp. Adult me has now become enlightened that putting the Level pot around +/- 3 is enough, and I’ve "upgraded’ to a Kustom “Contender” 18W tube preamp hybrid combo, no FX Loop. So glad I didn’t part with this pedal. No noise gate, either. But the bees. Haunted me at every turn. Not so today. Today, cleaned, and dialed in, okay I’ll shut up now. _
